I found myself on New Year’s Day purging all the excess “stuff” we moved into our new place two and a half years ago.  This “stuff” happened to be boxes of unknown items that were the last to be packed at the old house.  You know, the “I’ll deal with it later” method of packing. 

Unfortunately for us, it took two and a half years and realizing that the holiday decorations needed to be re-organized when they were stowed away before I’d deal with the clutter.  I literally spent the whole day pitching things and know I’ve only scratched the surface. 

I found a few items on the web that could help all of us stay one step ahead of the clutter.  Check them out here!  Granted, there’s no replacing a good old fashioned ‘pitching session’ for unwanted stuff….but having a plan and organization system in place to keep it from getting cluttered in the first place can always help! 

If you do find yourself overwhelmed with the amount of clutter you find in your home, you can always call in an expert to help.  Yes, Virginia, they do exist.  These companies can come in and reorganize your home, pack your things and coordinate your cross-country move, stage your home for sale or even assist you in sorting through a deceased loved ones’ possessions.  A local company which I recommend for such a service is the Clutter Marshals.
